Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been described as “a headache”, as A-listers appear to be refusing to work alongside them. The couple, who now reside in California, have been trying to pave their way in Hollywood and have been seen mixing with various celebrity figures at major star-studded events in the US.

Meghan, unlike Harry, is no stranger to the celebrity realm, with the couple both seen arriving at Kris Jenner’s 007-themed 70th birthday party last year. The 44-year-old also starred as Rachel Zane in the US drama Suits between 2011 and 2017.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Royalist with Tom Sykes and The Daily Beast, journalist Tom Sykes asked Variety’s chief correspondent Matt Donnelly about why “top talent” appear not to want to work with the former working royals.

 

Discussing the couple, Mr Sykes said: “Why do you think that top talent don’t want to work with them? Is it again this thing of just the brands [being] toxic? You don’t want to be seen with somebody who’s kind of on the downward slope. It’s better to be with people who are on the upward slope.

“Is it just the thickness of Hollywood, or are they genuinely just not delivering?”

“You know, these are a highly scrutinised couple that often press breaks bad around them. So it might be a curse, just like how they’re covered.

“But then, as you see from my report, what kind of partners they are, at least for my sources and how they work, and the process by which they want to influence and touch material might be seen as too invasive.

“And also, you’re talking about two people who aren’t really proven in the space.

“So if you’re coming on board to partner with someone who’s a massive, prolific producer of film and television, do you really want to humour opinions and feedback from people who’ve never really done this outside of unscripted projects about themselves?”
