Family Breaks Silence After Woman Was Allegedly Stabbed Before Hor-ror Crash That K-i-lled Tasmanian Nurse
The family of a woman stabbed by her partner – who then caused a horrific head-on crash which killed a nurse in Tasmania – have shared horrific details surrounding the tragedy.
Mother-of-two Elaine Gee, 39, was driving north along the West Tamar Hwy near Legana last Friday, when a blue Skoda crossed into her lane and crashed head-on into her Nissan Navara.
She died in hospital days after the crash while the male driver, 42, died at the scene.
Investigators have said the man was fleeing the scene of a domestic violence-related stabbing in Exeter before the crash, where he had left a woman with “serious stab wounds”.

In a statement released through her official Facebook page, Tasmanian MP Jess Greene shed more details on the horrific circumstances of the woman’s stabbing and the “traumatic events” endured by the woman’s daughters.
Identified as “Sarah”, she remains in hospital recovering from serious injuries.
The statement, penned by her sister and brother-in-law, Coby and Adam Gore, details how the family have been “overwhelmed” by the “messages of support, kindness and offers of assistance”.
“Her family is profoundly grateful she survived, but she faces a long physical and emotional recovery,” the letter, shared by the Bass MP, states.

“Sarah’s two young daughters were exposed to traumatic events no child should ever have to experience.
“Their safety, wellbeing and recovery remain the family’s highest priority.”
Both girls are being cared for by Coby and Adam at their home in West Tamar while Sarah recovers.
“The girls have previously lived with Coby and Adam in Tasmania and are returning to a home where they are surrounded by people they know, trust and love,” Ms Greene’s post continued.
The family also paid tribute to Ms Gee, remembering her as a “beloved wife, mother, friend and dedicated nurse whose death has left an immeasurable void”.

“They extend their deepest sympathies to Elaine’s husband Rodney, her children, extended family, friends and colleagues. Their profound loss remains in everyone’s thoughts during this incredibly difficult time,” Ms Greene continued.
“Like many families impacted by family violence, the immediate focus is not on the circumstances that led to these events, but on helping victim-survivors heal and ensuring children have the safety, stability and support they need.

“Family violence does not only affect the person who is injured.
“Its impacts are felt by children, families, friends, workplaces, emergency responders and entire communities, and its consequences can be lifelong.
A GoFundMe has been set up to cover the costs of practical support, stability and security and Sarah and her children during the “extraordinarily traumatic and uncertain time”.
