Unchosen has just arrived on Netflix and the eerie cult thriller, which boasts a star-studded cast, explores the disturbingly dark world inside a fictional Christian sect.
The miniseries is made up of six episodes, all of which aired on the streaming platform at the same time, meaning fans are already well on their way to bingeing the entire show.

The show follows Rosie (played by Molly Windsor), a devoted wife and mother who is questioning her life within an oppressive cult.
Her world is turned upside down when she crosses paths with an escaped convict called Sam (Fra Fee), as she begins to query who she can really trust.
As viewers learn more about Rosie’s homelife, dark secrets begin to emerge concerning those she once thought she knew best.

Adam’s true colours shine through (Image: NETFLIX)
The series throws viewers straight into the deep end as a harrowing incident takes place in the first episode, setting up the tumultuous storyline between Rosie and Sam.
Meanwhile, Sex Education star Asa Butterfield shines as he takes on one of the first dark and disturbing roles of his career, as Rosie’s husband, Adam.
Rosie finds herself torn between her husband, who is wholly devoted to the cult, and Sam, who attempts to convince her to escape her shackled life.
Viewers discover more about both Adam and Sam as terrifying truths come to light, posing some serious questions about who the real bad guy is.
With unanticipated twists and turns driving the story on, the series all too quickly reaches a somewhat unsatisfying end.
Everything about Unchosen can be considered a masterpiece, from the casting to the highly emotive performances.

But the one irritating thing about the series is the fact that it leaves viewers with one burning question – What happened to Adam?
In the final moments of the drama, viewers discover that after a year-long time jump, Sam took over as the leader of the cult, after blackmailing Adam with evidence of their controversial sexual encounter.
He warned Adam if he were to call the police, he would expose Adam as a sinner, having taken part in a sexual act with another man.
Following his threat, Adam was nowhere to be seen, leaving fans wondering whether he was able to escape the cult or whether Sam had been keeping him locked away to repent all that time.
As the show has been advertised as a miniseries, it is unlikely a second season will wrap things up, meaning viewers are not likely to get a firm answer regarding Adam’s fate.
‘Open endings’ are, for many, the worst kind of ending, with viewers preferring to have all the facts and answers at their disposal.
Unchosen’s ending echoes that of the controversial Stranger Things finale, with fans fuming as Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) fate was somewhat left up in the air.
This near-perfect series has lost out on one or two stars as its somewhat rushed final moments left out some crucial details.
