Prince William and Princess Catherine could stop one of their strict parenting rules for their eldest son Prince George when he moves away to boarding school in September. The Prince and Princess of Wales are set for a major change at their Forest Lodge home within the next few months as their eldest son, who will soon turn 13, will be moving to Eton College, where he will be a boarder.

This means that, apart from some weekends and school holidays, George will no longer be living under their roof. As loving and hands-on parents, this will no doubt be hard for the couple, who have never lived apart from any of their children before. While their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis do not currently have phones, it is believed this rule could soon change for George.

This is because the parents are likely to want to be able to be in contact with their son while he is a student at Eton.

To do this, it is likely they could give him a mobile phone, breaking their current no-phone rule with their three children.

This is something William, 43, hinted at last year during an interview with Brazilian television host Luciano Huck from the Domingão show.

The future King said: “Our children don’t have phones.”

He continued: “When George moves onto secondary school, maybe he’ll have one with limited access. We talk to him and explain why we don’t think it’s right.

“With full access, children end up seeing things on the internet that they shouldn’t. But with restricted access, I think it’s good for messaging.”

It is yet to be confirmed whether or not George will be allowed a phone of his own when he moves to Eton, which is a short drive from Windsor.

His siblings Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, will still be living at Forest Lodge with Prince William and Princess Catherine.
