Tommy Lee Jones’ late daughter, Victoria Jones, had several run-ins with the law prior to her death in January 2026.

After following in her father’s footsteps as a child actress and teen star, Victoria walked away from Hollywood in 2014. A decade later, she was arrested twice for “obstructing a peace officer” and “being under the influence of a controlled substance” among other charges. (A hearing was set for late January 2026.)

On New Year’s Day in 2026, Victoria was found unresponsive at a hotel in San Francisco following a call of a “medical emergency” to the San Francisco Fire Department. She was pronounced dead at the scene at the age of 34.

September 1991

Tommy Lee Jones and second wife Kimerlea Cloughley welcomed their first child, son Austin Jones, in November 1982. They expanded their family in September 1991 with the birth of daughter Victoria Jones. Tommy Lee and Cloughley divorced in 1996 after 15 years of marriage.

Early 2000s

Victoria made her acting debut in 2002’s Men in Black II alongside her father. She played “Neuralyzed Daughter” while Tommy Lee portrayed one of the two leads, Kay. (Will Smith was his counterpart playing Jay.)

In 2005, Victoria appeared in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada and Sorry, Haters as well as an episode of One Tree Hill.

2006

After working together on The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Tommy Lee called his daughter “a good actress” who “speaks impeccable Spanish.”

While Tommy Lee was impressed with how Victoria portrayed the character of a young Mexican girl, he confessed to The New Yorker that she didn’t have the best work ethic as a teenager.

“She had to get up at 5 a.m. for her part,” he recalled in 2006. “One morning, she wouldn’t get out of bed. I said, ‘Honey, this is work.’ But she wouldn’t budge. So I fired her. Then, without telling me, the production staff went over and woke her and rushed her out to the set just in time.”

Despite Victoria’s brief firing, Tommy Lee looked back on the movie fondly as it also included his third wife, Dawn Laurel-Jones, whom he wed in 2001, working as the stills photographer.

“We’ve built a world-class polo field and a practice field there, so my team and the kids’ teams can play,” Tommy Lee added of the set. “My daughter has been playing polo since she was 6, and now she’s entirely fearless. She sometimes plays six chukkers.”

June 2011

Victoria’s troubles with the law date back to June 2011 when she was arrested for theft in San Antonio, Texas. According to Page Six, she was accused of stealing in the amount of $50 to $500 but the charge was later dismissed.

May 2014

Victoria stepped away from acting after her role in 2014’s The Homesman, directed by Tommy Lee. Her father also wrote the film and was one of the stars alongside Hilary Swank. The father-daughter duo attended the Cannes Film Festival that May in support of the movie’s release before it hit theaters in the U.S. in November 2014.

October 2017

Victoria stepped out in support of her father in October 2017 for the opening ceremony of the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan. It was the last time she was photographed on a red carpet with Tommy Lee, who served as the president of the jury that year.

April 2025

Victoria was arrested twice in 2025; the first was in Napa County, California, on April 28. At the time, she was taken into custody and charged with three misdemeanors: Obstructing a peace officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription.

The former actress pleaded not guilty, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. A hearing was set for January 20, 2026.

June 2025

Victoria was arrested again in Napa County in June and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. She posted bail on June 13, according to docs obtained by Us and pleaded not guilty in July 2025. A hearing was set for January 20, 2026, per the filing, which appears to have combined both of Victoria’s 2025 arrests.

January 2026

Victoria was found unresponsive at San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel on January 1. Paramedics later declared her dead on scene following a call for a “code 3 for the overdose, color change,” according to dispatch audio obtained by TMZ. She was 34.

“Upon arrival, paramedics from the fire department performed an assessment. The person was declared deceased,” the San Francisco Fire Department told Us in a statement at the time. “SFPD and the medical examiner’s office were called to the scene. Scene turned over to SFPD and SF Medical Examiners.”

NBC Bay Area has since reported that foul play is not suspected.
