Actor who once appeared on How I Met Your Mother sentenced to 32 years to life in prison
Following a haunting and protracted legal process, actor Nick Pasqual—a face once seen on the hit series How I Met Your Mother—has received a stern sentence of 32 years to life in prison for the attempted murder of makeup artist Allie Shehorn.

Brutality Behind the Spotlight The attack, which occurred in May 2024, left permanent scars on both the body and spirit of Allie Shehorn, a renowned makeup artist who has contributed to major projects such as Mean Girls, Rebel Moon, and Babylon. According to records from the Los Angeles Times, the victim was discovered at her home suffering from more than 20 stab wounds, lying in a pool of her own blood.
Prior to this horrific incident, Shehorn had attempted to seek protection through legal channels, including filing for a restraining order against Pasqual due to prior domestic violence.
Tearful Testimony in Court During the trial, Allie Shehorn courageously faced her assailant. She appeared in court with visible scars that served as a testament to the brutality she endured. During the proceedings, the victim described the harrowing moments that led to the collapse of their relationship: “I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open”. In a state of extreme fear, she attempted to find a final place of refuge: “I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door”.
Consequences of Lax Bail Conditions Notably, the attempted murder took place only five days after Nick Pasqual was released from jail on $50,000 bail, following an arrest for a previous violent fight with the same victim.
The fact that authorities allowed the suspect to be released on bail shortly before the stabbing has raised many questions regarding victim protection in domestic violence cases. With the verdict handed down on Tuesday, June 2, the prison gates have now closed on the career and life of this actor, bringing an end to a painful chapter for the victim.
