Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor a.k.a Prince Archie of Sussex is 7!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son was born on May 6, 2019, and he was introduced to the world shortly after. Archie spent the first few months of his life in the United Kingdom, before Harry and Meghan moved their family to the United States. The couple later welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on June 4, 2021.

In a March 2025 interview with PEOPLE, Meghan spoke about motherhood, and reflected on moving to Montecito, Calif., while Archie was still an infant.

“Five years ago Archie was only 8 or 9 months old, so my life has changed so much,” she said, before turning her thoughts to the future and looking ahead. “This is just the beginning. Life is full of surprises.”

“And my gosh, in 10 years, Archie will be driving!” she added.

Instead of the royal tradition of debuting a newborn outside of Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, Harry and Meghan made their first public appearance with Archie at St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle, two days after he was born.

When asked about being a new mom, Meghan said, “It’s magic.”

“It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” she continued, adding, “He’s just been a dream. It’s been a special couple of days.”

Archie joins his parents in South Africa

In September 2019, Archie accompanied his parents on a royal tour of South Africa.

The trip marked Archie’s first official royal engagement.

In another personal Instagram post, Meghan posted a snap of Archie on a balcony, as he looked at the sun setting into the ocean. It captured a moment when the light created a halo radiating around Archie’s head.

“Our son. Our sun,” she wrote. “Happy 6th birthday to Archie!”

“Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy,” she continued “He’s six! Where did the time go?”

In a May 2025 Instagram post, Meghan shared a black-and-white picture of Archie and Lilibet with their dad, in what appears to be the garden of their Montecito home.

The photo was posted without a caption, but it featured Lilibet on Harry’s shoulders as he held hands with Archie.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Meghan shared an image on Instagram of Archie and Lilibet holding on to her.

“Happy Mother’s Day! Cheers to juggling it all with joy!” she wrote. “And to these two gems — who still attempt to climb ‘mama mountain,’ smother me with kisses, and make every day the most memorable adventure … being your mom is the greatest privilege of my life.”

“I, too, ‘love you more than all the stars in all the sky, all the raindrops, and all the salt on all the french fries in all the world,’ ” Meghan concluded her message.

Archie was on set for Meghan’s Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.

“Filming season two of ‘With Love, Meghan’ was more fun than you can imagine,” she captioned an Instagram photo of Archie holding a clapboard.

“Archie did the [filming clapboard]! Sweet moments,” Meghan told PEOPLE in March 2025. “They would also come with my husband and visit me on-set, and I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share.”

“It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work,” she added.
