Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has previously sent joint Christmas cards to family and friends, but this year has decided to do things a little differently. According to Ephraim Hardcastle’s column in the Daily Mail, Sarah is sending her own cards this year, with sources suggesting they include a “rather gushing personalised apology” to other royals for her part in the scandal.

The column also reports that there are no signs of the former Duke of York offering festive wishes to friends and family. Sarah Ferguson had previously been a popular member of the Royal Family and a welcome guest at Sandringham Estate in previous years, under the reign of King Charles.

However, Fergie and Andrew have not been invited to this year’s family gathering, as the pair was stripped of their titles. Sarah’s own dealings with the late convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, with resurfaced emails, have caused tension between the pair and the Royal Family.

Next year, Sarah will be looking for a new home, and it is thought she will not be joining her husband, Prince Andrew, at Sandringham, where he is expected to move into Marsh Farm.

In October, Andrew was stripped of his ‘prince’ title, as his links to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein have caused problems for the Royal Family. The prince, who relinquished his titles, has always strongly denied any wrongdoing. The decision was made, and action taken, due to serious lapses in Andrew’s judgement, it is understood.

The pair were last seen attending the christening of their granddaughter, Athena – Princess Beatrice’s daughter. They attended a service at Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace to support their granddaughter, who was born prematurely in January this year.

Usually, a christening is an event of great celebration and a highly publicised occasion, but with the scandal embroiling the York family, the day saw Fergie and Andrew not attending the after-party with other guests at a local pub in central London.

This week, the extended Royal Family were invited to Buckingham Palace by King Charles for the annual Christmas lunch.

This year, King Charles was joined by more than a dozen members of the family, from Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, to the Prince and Princess of Wales, who arrived with their three children.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie smiled as they drove to Buckingham Palace together, with Beatrice behind the wheel, but their parents did not attend.
