Julian Ingram was on bail for domestic violence offences when he allegedly shot and killed three people, court documents reveal.

Mr Ingram, 37, has been on the run since the January 22 shootings in the NSW Central West town of Lake Cargelligo.

His ex-partner Sophie Quinn, 25, and John Harris, 32, were found inside a vehicle with fatal gunshot wounds.

Police were called to a nearby street a short time later where they found Ms Quinn’s aunt Nerida, who had also been fatally shot.

Kaleb Macqueen, 19, was also shot and taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

As the search for the alleged gunman continues, court records show Mr Ingram was previously charged with a string of violent offences.

In November last year, Mr Ingram was charged with domestic violence, including common assault, damaging property, and stalking and intimidation.

He pleaded not guilty to the offences and was granted bail to report to police daily.

In November, 2024, he also pleaded not guilty to knowingly driving a vehicle in a manner that menaces or other.

He also pleaded not guilty to negligent driving.

Meanwhile, NSW Police has declared a “critical incident investigation” amid their search for Mr Ingram.

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland on Monday said investigators would be examining Mr Ingram’s domestic violence history as well as his access to firearms.

“The investigation will be led by a critical incident team from State Crime Command’s homicide squad and will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and oversight by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission,” NSW Police said in a statement.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mr Holland revealed that police had received reports Mr Ingram had been seen on a property about 3km south of Mount Hope on Kidman Way between January 24 and 25.

The area is located northwest of Lake Cargelligo.
