The presenter asked the court to spare her from a driving ban, saying it would prevent her from taking care of her teenage sons.
Kirsty Gallacher has slammed a judge for having “no empathy” after she was banned from driving for six months after speeding – her fifth driving offence in eight years.
The 49-year-old presenter admitted the offence in court today but asked to be spared from a ban so she could continue driving for family and work obligations.
Gallacher was caught going 35mph in a 30mph zone near her home in Maidens Green, Berkshire, on April 1 2025.
The single mum-of-two appeared in front of High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, where she pleaded guilty to a single speeding charge. She tried to appeal the ban on the grounds that she needs to drive in order to take care of her sons, to receive medical care for a benign brain tumour and for work.
This is Gallacher’s third speeding offence. In a 2017 incident, she was seen driving erratically and found to be almost three times over the legal alcohol limit.
That time, she appeared at Slough Magistrates’ Court and claimed she had been drinking the night before before pleading guilty. She was banned for two years, given 100 hours of community work and required to pay both court costs and a victim surcharge.
In court today, Gallacher said she couldn’t afford to pay for taxis or a private driver as she is the sole financial provider for her two children.
Gallacher earns a £150,000 salary from Gold Radio and confirmed to the court that she has around £80,000 in savings.
District Judge Arvind Sharma told her today, “I accept that things will be harder for you, but those are all manageable.

Roland Hoskins
“I don’t accept that your son needs a lift every morning, and you have adequate money saved up that you can use taxis for your children and yourself.”
