On October 25, 2025, rapper THF Bayzoo, real name Devonshe Collier, was fatally shot while at a parking lot in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred around 3 p.m., when he and two friends were approached by two unknown assailants who opened fire. Bayzoo was hit multiple times and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he passed away the following morning.

Although the case has drawn significant attention from the community and media, Chicago police have not apprehended any suspects as of now. According to ABC7 Eyewitness News, the investigation is ongoing, and there is no official information regarding a motive or the identities of those involved. Authorities have stated they are exploring all possibilities, including whether this was a targeted attack.

Meanwhile, a video capturing the shooting circulated online, showing two unidentified individuals approaching Bayzoo and firing at close range. However, the video does not provide clear identification of the attackers and has not been confirmed as official evidence in the investigation.

Bayzoo’s death sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community, particularly within Lil Durk’s Only The Family (OTF) label. Many artists and fans expressed their condolences and grief on social media. Fellow rapper Doodie Lo, a close friend of Bayzoo, wrote on Instagram:

“MY BFF MY BRUDDA MY DAWG TAUGHT ME A LOT THIS ONE HURT WOP MAN EVERYBODY KNOW OUR RELATIONSHIP. I GOT YO KIDS FOR LIFE WHEN I GOT SHOT YOU JUMPED ON THE ROAD NO QUESTIONS.”

Although no official suspect information has been released, some unofficial sources on social media suggest the incident may be linked to the Black Disciples gang. However, these claims are unverified and should be approached with caution.
