Stefon Diggs is the father of a 7-month-old baby girl, according to paternity test results.

The New England Patriots wide receiver, 31, is the father of Aileen Lopera’s daughter, whom she welcomed earlier this year. The news was confirmed to PEOPLE by Aileen Lopera’s lawyer, Tamar G. Arminak.

“We can confirm that Mr. Diggs is the father,” Arminak tells PEOPLE in a statement. “And, we are hopeful he that he will meaningfully contribute to the child’s life and coparent with our client who has had to do everything on her own thus far.”

The model, who goes by Lord Gisselle on Instagram, first filed documents against Diggs to determine a parental relationship of their unborn baby in December 2024, when she was pregnant.

“Petitioner is currently pregnant with [Diggs’] unborn child,” the filing read. At the time, Lopera requested legal and physical custody of their baby, but gave Diggs visitation rights.

Diggs filed a response to the suit, contesting that the baby is his at the time. He requested genetic testing to determine whether he is the father.

He also wrote in the documents that if it is determined that he is the father, he requests joint legal and physical custody, as well as joint payment of “reasonable expenses” of pregnancy, birth and attorney fees and costs.

The documents also revealed that Lopera had named her baby daughter Charliee Harper Diggs-Lopera, giving her the professional athlete’s last name. The U.S. Sun was first to report this story.

“My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs acknowledges and provides for his infant daughter in Los Angeles,” Arminak told PEOPLE at the time.

Reps for Diggs did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Cardi B is currently pregnant with her fourth baby, her first with Diggs, due before her tour launches in February.

“I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” Cardi told anchor Gayle King, in a pre-taped interview for CBS Mornings in September.

“I’m happy,” continued Cardi. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work — but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”

The pregnant rapper, 33, may have shared her thoughts on her professional football player boyfriend being a father to the baby girl in September. In the Instagram Live video, she references Shirley Brown’s 1974 song “Woman to Woman,” where Brown talks about a woman calling her husband’s mistress.

“Hello, Barbara, this is Shirley,” she said. “That’s your baby daddy, bitch? That’s my baby daddy, too.”

The “Bodak Yellow” artist continued, “Well, what now? I don’t f—ing know. We’ll figure it out, bitch.”
