Musical genius and rapper, C-Murder, has been in prison for almost two decades, serving a life sentence for murder. Furthermore, the retrial ruling at a federal court for Miller’s case in 2023 shows that he will not be released as soon as some might hope.
C-Murder’s Prison Sentence
Corey Miller was arrested in Jan 2002 for murder. Also, the crime laid against him was for the second-degree murder of a teen. Unfortunately, the victim, later identified as Steve Thomas, lost his life after being shot at a nightclub in Harvey, Louisiana.
On August 14, 2009, Miller was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
Kenneth Jordan, another witness, and Darnell Jordan admitted to providing false statements. Jordan claims he got a threat of a 10-year prison sentence for unrelated criminal charges, while D. Jordan said he was locked up by the police to falsely testify on Investigation Discovery’s Reasonable Doubt, in which Miller’s case was featured.

C-Murder Prison Release Update
There has been no update on Corey Miller’s release from prison, despite attempts by P Master to get a presidential pardon. Miller has been serving his sentence at the Louisiana State Penitentiary following his 2009 murder sentence.
There have been some updates with the witness statements while C-Murder is in prison, hoping to be released. Two witnesses renounced their initial statements in 2018. These witnesses accused the authorities of tricking them into testifying against the rapper while under pressure.
Their statements claimed they had been pressured into testifying against Miller by the authorities. Miller still maintains his innocence, and he and his family, including his brothers, have tried to get a new trial numerous times.
Meanwhile, all hope is not lost. Miller’s attorney Jane Hogan expressed her disappointment that their retrial was unsuccessful. She asserted confidently, “I am optimistic that at some point, he will be granted a hearing on his substantial claim of innocence.“
As of now, there might be zero to no chance that the rapper ever comes home, as there are no new trials or successful appeals in C-Murder’s case this year.
