Matthew McConaughey is currently promoting his new book, Poems & Prayers. He’s been writing here and there in a journal since he was 18 and he pulled out a lot of what he jotted down over the years and put it into a collection. As part of the press tour, he was on Hot Ones and while his appearance isn’t as viral as some of the others who’ve been on the show, he is one of the most perfectly suited guests to this format because the man can talk. Through anything.

That’s the point of Hot Ones, right? Is to get people uncomfortable, literally physically uncomfortable, and see how the conversation goes with questions that have been extremely well researched. What you need, then, is a guest who can keep going despite the fact that a volcano is erupting in their mouths. I don’t have the celebrity qualifications to be on Hot Ones but I’ve always wanted to be on Hot Ones only because I can handle the heat. And I would love to test that while in conversation. Not sure that anyone, however, can carry on a conversation like Matthew – because it’s not just that he can keep going, it’s the way he can describe the spice and how it behaves in a way I’m not sure any guest ever has. This man is a walking word salad, sometimes it makes no sense, but he finds combinations of words that are really entertaining. He is really, really good TV.

He was good TV again last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The conversation starts with the birds and the bees and, again, I’m telling you, the way he kept that conversation PG with such creative descriptions of anatomy while discussing genitalia, masturbation, and exploring a woman’s body is… well… it’s what makes him a celebrity, the best kind of celebrity to have on a talk show.

I haven’t yet read Anthony Jeselnik’s interview at Vulture with Kathryn VanArendonk but now I really want to because of the book thing but also how he quite candidly calls out Bill Burr for performing at the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Thanks to Mike Redmond for the heads up. (Pajiba)

Well, we’re two weeks away from 2026 which means people are forecasting the next big trends. When it comes to hair trends, we’ve probably seen it all, so it’s only the names that will change. The Ringer is counting down the best albums of 2025 and not that you asked but I’ll tell you anyway, the album I consider #1 came in second on their list: Rosalía’s LUX. Is SO F-CKING GOOD, I am feral about it. To the point where I actually refrain from talking about it because I can’t properly articulate how I feel about it, there are no words that are right.
