King Charles and Queen Camilla will hit the red carpet tonight to mark a very special anniversary. The King and Queen will attend A King’s Trust Celebration, a special evening tonight at the Royal Albert Hall, celebrating the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust.

Guests at the glittering event will include the King’s Trust ambassadors, alumni, staff, and volunteers, to celebrate the charity’s work and the achievements of the young people it has supported over the last 50 years. Charles and Camilla will greet King’s Trust ambassadors and hosts of the evening, Ant and Dec, before meeting the charity’s award winners from this year accompanied by their award presenters, as well as Trust ambassadors and performers.

Charles founded the King’s Trust, previously known as The Prince’s Trust, as Prince of Wales in 1976.

The charity helps young people from disadvantaged communities and those facing adversity to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn

It has helped more than a million young people across the UK, with three in four of those it has supported in the last five years moving into work, education or training.

Charles will also mark his charity’s anniversary later this week, with a lavish garden party at Buckingham Palace.

The King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Garden Party will take place on May 14.

It will bring together over 4,000 beneficiaries, volunteers, staff and supporters to celebrate 50 years of The King’s Trust.

Historically, garden parties replaced presentation parties attended by debutantes and have evolved into a way to recognise and reward public service.
