Bung Siriboon vanished 15 years ago while walking to school and has not been seen since.

The mother of missing Melbourne schoolgirl Bung Siriboon has died following a battle with cancer.

Vannida, also known as Nid, died last Monday according to her husband and Bung’s step-father Fred Pattison.

He shared the heartbreaking news on a GoFundMe page that had been set up by close family friend Dyamai Hillard.

“With great sorrow and sadness l like to inform you my wife has passed,” Pattison said.

“Thank you all, with all our love and gratitude for the help you share, bless you all.

“One journey comes to an end and another begins.”

Over $13,000 has been raised for Fred and Bung’s sister Pang.

Nid was diagnosed with primary central nervous system lymphoma in May 2024. It was revealed earlier this month she had gone into palliative care.

According to Hillard, Nid had been living in Thailand while Fred remained in Australia to work.

Nid died without ever finding out what happened to her youngest daughter Siriyakorn, also known as Bung, 15 years ago.

The 13-year-old vanished while walking to school in Melbourne’s East on June 2, 2011.

Bung left her family home on Elsie St in Boronia about 8.25am and was seen not long after walking towards Albert Ave.

The teenager never arrived at school and did not come home later. She has not been seen or heard from since.

A $1m reward remains for any information about what happened to the teenager.
