Kate Middleton, Prince William and their three children spent Easter with the royal family this year, marking a return to a beloved tradition.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ family joined King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family at the Easter Matins Service at St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle on Sunday, April 5.

Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, walked alongside their parents as they arrived for the church outing. George and Charlotte first attended the royal Easter service in 2022, while Louis made his holiday debut the following year.

Each member of the family dressed formally for the outing, with George and Louis appearing to coordinate their outfits with their father.

While William, 43, and Kate, 44, have long marked Easter with the royal family — with William taking part in the tradition since childhood — the couple missed the annual outing in both 2024 and 2025, making this year’s appearance a notable return.

They skipped the 2024 service after Princess Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis just weeks earlier, choosing instead to spend the holiday privately with their children. In January 2025, the Princess of Wales announced that her cancer was in remission.

Last year, the family spent Easter more than 100 miles from Windsor at their Norfolk country home, where they often retreat during school breaks. The Wales family has previously shared a glimpse at how they celebrate Easter at home, including one especially relatable tradition: an egg hunt.

William also revealed during the couple’s first full royal engagement by video call in 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, that the holiday typically involves plenty of sweets in their household.

“There will be a lot of chocolate being eaten here, don’t worry!” he said.

Then Kate turned to her husband with a laugh and replied, “You keep eating it!”

In recent weeks, William and Kate have kept a relatively low profile while spending time with their children during their school break surrounding Easter.
