Peter Greene — the actor known for his roles in Pulp Fiction and The Mask — was found dead inside his apartment in New York City’s Lower East Side at the age of 60.

According to neighbors, Christmas music had been playing continuously for several days inside Greene’s apartment, an unusual detail that raised concern among residents in the building. The building manager eventually called a locksmith to gain entry and check on him.

Inside the apartment, Greene was found lying face down on the floor, with blood reported at the scene and injuries to his face. A handwritten note reading “I’m still a Westie” was also discovered, though no explanation or intended recipient was identified.

Police have not released an official cause of death and have not confirmed whether the case involves any criminal activity. The investigation remains ongoing.

Greene’s manager said he had spoken with the actor just days before his death, and that Greene had been planning to undergo surgery to remove a benign tumor near his lung.

Peter Greene had previously spoken openly about his struggles with addiction and periods of homelessness earlier in his life, before rebuilding his career and becoming known for intense, often menacing roles that left a lasting impression on audiences.

As of now, the meaning of the handwritten note — and what truly happened during the actor’s final hours inside the apartment — remains unanswered.
