Sir Keir Starmer is making millions and millions of British people suffer just so that he and Rachel Reeves can cling onto their jobs for another few months.

The day he won the election, he said this: “We’ve changed the Labour Party, returned it to service and that is how we will govern. The country first, party second.”

He said he couldn’t afford to scrap the two child benefit cap.

He knew he needed to cut welfare – that’s why he tried to pass the Welfare Reform Bill in June.

Labour MPs revolted, Starmer U-turned on it.

Tanking in the opinion polls, Starmer is now the least popular Prime Minister since records began. Rachel Reeves is now the least popular Chancellor since records began.

Labour MPs are openly plotting to oust them both, one even told the BBC he’d give up his own seat for Andy Burnham.

So what does he and Rachel Reeves do?

Instead of getting this country’s finances back on track they chose to put up taxes for millions and millions of hard working people.

They chose to tax your taxi ride, your milkshake, your trip to visit your family in another part of this country.

They chose to hammer homeowners. They chose to clobber people who want to put money away for their retirement.

They did all that just so they could scrap the two child benefit cap and hike up welfare by £16billion to keep that mob behind them happy.

The two child benefit cap scrap alone will cost us £3billion and will disproportionately go to Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Somali and Nigerian families.

25,000 more people are now expected to claim it, according to the OBR.

Roughly 585,000 families will be able to claim and extra £292.81 for every single additional child they have which equates, based on the current rates, to an extra £3,514-a-year.

They didn’t do this to solve child poverty. They did this to save their own careers until they’re given the boot after the May elections. And they’re making you pay for it.

People on welfare who have more than two kids are ALREADY getting child benefit for every child! This is just more free money.

Look at who’s leaving Britain, it’s the 16-44-year-olds. They are the wealth creators.

Rachel Reeves and Sir Keir Starmer are happy to wave goodbye to all those people who don’t want to have to pay for someone else’s kid, or for hotels full of Eritrean men…just so they can stave off a backbench rebellion for a few more months.

One of the 43 taxes she announced is making drivers of electric vehicles pay per mile.

People don’t have to take a new car for an MOT for three years – there’s no way of the Treasury finding out how many miles those people are driving. And Rachel Reeves didn’t seem to know this when asked about it in an awkward interview with the BBC this morning

Sir Keir Starmer is living in an Orwellian, dystopian, false reality. He claims people will back his tax hikes. Wrong. 80 per cent of business leaders said they feel negatively about the Budget.

Mark my words – we are going to see more redundancies, more unemployment and higher prices for goods and services. And Starmer and Reeves have done all that just to keep those backbench MPs off their backs for a few more months.

It is the most nakedly selfish budget in history. They have ruined peoples lives to try to save their own skin.
