Egypt Sherrod and husband Mike Jackson shared that HGTV has allegedly canceled their show, Married to Real Estate, unexpectedly after four seasons.

The real estate expert and her builder husband took to Instagram to open up about the news in a joint post shared on Tuesday, June 24.

“Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we’re met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,” the post reads.

“While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful. Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other),” it continues.

The couple adds that while they have “more to say” about the situation that they’ll “share soon,” they refuse to let the disappointing news bring them down.

“For now, know this: not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise. We’ve been here before. We’ll keep counting those blessings—and keep it moving. Stay tuned,” they conclude the post.

In the comments, Jackson added, “God makes no mistakes. However, people and opinions do. We’ll discuss that on a later date though. We thank all the FAMS for rocking with us through it all. We appreciate the love and support. We’re not done🫡 We got us.”

His wife noted in a different comment, “Sometimes GOD will rip you out of a situation to set you up for your next!”

“You guys are amazing and will thrive at anything and everything you do!!” Christina Haack wrote, followed by a red heart emoji.

Ty Pennington also wrote a sweet comment for the pair and expressed his shock over hearing the news.

“You know, in general I thought I had decent gauge about what TV executives wanted and the last few years have completely shattered that,” he commented. “Seriously shocked to hear this! Ya’ll are true professionals and I especially loved the designs from the last season 🙌 Keep doing you 🙏🏼❤️ Onward and upward!”

Along with the joint post, Jackson took to his Instagram Stories to seemingly throw shade at the network for the abrupt alleged cancellation.

“The amount of things I want to say and share. I’ll let Jesus take the wheel though,” he wrote in one slide. In another, he added, “I can’t front, I’m a bit tight and disappointed. If y’all only knew what we have to put up with and endure.”

Set in Atlanta, the HGTV series followed Sherrod and Jackson as they worked to help clients make a home for themselves in dream neighborhoods they never thought they’d be able to afford.

The show also documented the couple’s busy family life. Sherrod and Jackson — who tied the knot in September 2010 after six years of dating — share daughters Harper and Kendall. Sherrod is also stepmom to Jackson’s older daughter Simone from a previous relationship.
