An 87-year-old man and his 84-year-old wife were discovered dead in their home after leaving a note on the front door warning a relative not to go inside.

William and Gloria Hall, who had been married for 62 years were found at their home on November 20 last year.

Bradford Coroners’ Court heard today that Mrs Hall had been found unresponsive sitting on a sofa in the living room.

Her cause of death has yet to be determined, with further investigations being carried out.

The couple had been found after a family member called the police when she had discovered a note on the couple’s front door telling her not to enter the house in South Crosland, Huddersfield, the hearing was told.

Paperwork was found which indicated that Mrs Hall and her husband did not want to be resuscitated.

Mr Hall, a retired managing director, was found suspended by a ligature, the court heard.

Assistant coroner Charlotte Keighley said the cause of Mrs Hall’s death was currently ‘unknown’ but that further investigations were taking place.
