A female carer found dead at her client’s Logan home has been identified as Brisbane singer Velvet Crystal Sky Pesu.
Pesu, 46, was found with injuries on the back steps of a two-storey property on Waterford Tamborine Rd at Buccan about 2.30am on Monday.
The male resident and Pesu’s client, 36-year-old Wael Abdallah Saleem Alfar, was not at the property when police located her body, prompting a manhunt.
The mechanic from Sydney was arrested later that day in Kempsey, on the NSW Mid North Coast, about five hours’ drive from Buccan, after his vehicle crashed into a culvert.
It is alleged Alfar led police on a high-speed pursuit from Coffs Harbour, reaching speeds of about 200km/h, swerving around road spikes and driving at police, forcing officers to jump out of the way.

The pursuit is alleged to have spanned about 80km through Valla, Nambucca Heads, Macksville, Warrell Creek and Eungai Creek.
Alfar has been charged with multiple offences, including dangerous driving.
He has not been charged in relation to Pesu’s death.
He was refused bail, and Queensland detectives have travelled to NSW to speak with him.
The cause of Pesu’s death is yet to be determined, pending the results of a post-mortem examination.
Pesu had earlier been reported missing from Ashgrove about 1am on Monday.

She was last seen at The Gap about 7pm on Saturday after dropping a family member at a party.
A mother and friend, Pesu was deeply involved in music therapy and visual art.
She spent more than 26 years in the music industry, describing herself as an experimental visual artist and musician on LinkedIn.
She had performed on stage just days earlier, according to videos shared on social media, and had appeared at events including the Korean Experimental Art Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Off Other Film Festival.
In a statement to 7NEWS, Pesu’s daughter described her mother as courageous, kind, generous, and giving.
“She bought instruments for children in Zimbabwe to learn about their culture and acknowledge their music,” she said.
“She was amazing and we loved her a lot.”

Neighbours said Alfar moved into the Buccan property late last year and had been renovating it.
They said his family, who live in Sydney, were planning to relocate to Queensland to live with him.
Police are appealing for dashcam footage of vehicles travelling east along Acton Street towards Waterford Tamborine Road, Buccan, between 7.30pm on Saturday January 10 and 2.30pm on Sunday January 11.
Investigations are ongoing.
