Harrowing footage shows the moment a man strolled down the street covered in blood after stabbing his housemate to death in a frenzied attack.

Javan Lee, 38, has been convicted of murdering 48-year-old Corey Graham at the shared house they lived in on Sussex Road in Harrow, northwest London, in October last year.

Police were called to the address after Mr Graham was stabbed 12 times in the front garden of the property.

Harrowing CCTV footage shows Lee leaving the garden and walking down the road holding a knife, with the right leg of his pale grey tracksuit completely drenched in blood.

In a bid to disguise his identity, Lee quickly pulls his hood up and walks with his head facing the ground, with blood splattered all the way up to his chest.

Detective Sergeant Matt Russell, from Specialist Crime North Homicide, said the footage ‘graphically demonstrates his brazenness’ – adding that Lee has shown ‘cowardice and contempt towards his victim’ since the attack.

Within ten minutes of the murder, Lee had disposed of the weapon and returned to the house share to clean his bloodied clothes in the washing machine.

Police attended the scene a short while later after a third tenant of the house called emergency services, having found Mr Graham with severe injuries in the garden.

Officers found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, before he was rushed to hospital, where he died the next day.

Police encountered Lee at the scene, where he initially gave a fake name, denying any involvement in the stabbing.

He was then ordered to wait in his bedroom, where he escaped through a window.

After six hours on the run, Lee returned to the house where he was detained by police.

He again denied any knowledge of the attack on his housemate, but officers had already forced entry into his bedroom and discovered his true identity.

Lee was then arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police later recovered the horrifying CCTV footage and Lee was convicted of murder by a jury at Southwark Crown Court.

Messages recovered by officers from Lee and Mr Graham’s devices suggested there had been a dispute between them – with the victim contacting the property’s management to complain of Lee’s mess minutes before he was fatally attacked.

In the same time period, the killer had also called emergency services to complain about Mr Graham.

Lee will return to court for sentence on a date yet to be fixed.

Detective Sergeant Matt Russell, from Specialist Crime North Homicide, said: ‘Our thoughts today are with the family of Mr Graham, who lost a loved one in such brutal circumstances – following an apparently trivial dispute between the men.

‘During the investigation, officers recovered CCTV of Lee walking along nearby residential streets just after the murder, covered in blood and carrying a knife. This graphically demonstrates his brazenness.

‘Lee has shown cowardice and contempt towards his victim. Although he had taken steps to conceal his involvement, evidence obtained by investigators was used to establish his guilt beyond reasonable doubt.

‘I would like to thank the investigation team for their hard work bringing Lee to justice.’
