The millionaire co-founder of fashion retailer ASOS has died in a balcony fall in Thailand.

Quentin Griffiths, 58, fell from his 17th-floor condo in Pattaya and tragically died.

Police did not find any evidence of a disturbance inside the apartment

A police investigator told the BBC Griffiths, a British passport holder, was by himself, his room was locked from the inside, and there was no trace of any break-ins at the time of the death.

An autopsy did not reveal any evidence of foul play but foul play has not yet been ruled out.

Mr Griffiths was in an ongoing row with Mr Griffiths’ Thai ex-wife, who accused him of stealing £500,000 from their shared company, The Sun reported.

Mr Griffiths was arrested last year and questioned by detectives after she claimed he had forged documents to sell land and shares in the company without her knowing.

The fashion boss maintained his innocence and was released after questioning. The probe is ongoing.

In order to establish the exact cause of death, a full-post mortem will need to be carried out, which may take months.

Mr Griffiths built his empire after helping to launch ASOS in 2000. It went on to become a £3 billion retail giant, seeing big names from the Princess of Wales to Michelle Obama wearing its designs.

The former advertising exec quit as director of marketing after four years, but profited £15 million from share sales in 2010 and enjoyed another stock windfall in 2013.

The father of three went on to relocate to Thailand in around 2007 and, after divorcing his first wife, married a Thai woman. Together, they had a son and a daughter, but separated a few years ago.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are supporting the family of a British national who has died in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities.”
