Kate Middleton and Prince William have a new member of staff on their team.

Liza Ravenscroft is joining the press and public relations at Kensington Palace from top PR group, Edelman, it has emerged. And Ravenscroft has a background in crisis management — tools that might be deemed useful amid the ongoing turmoil involving William’s uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

On her LinkedIn profile, Ravenscroft says she heads a U.K. team “across a portfolio of more than £2m of business every year” advising high-profile brands across a “complex landscape of risks and live crises.”

Edelman is led in the U.K. by former palace PR Julian Payne, King Charles’ former head of media. The Mail on Sunday, which broke the news of the new hire for William, suggested he might have been instrumental in championing Ravenscroft. “It is unlikely to be a coincidence that one of his most senior and respected members of staff has taken a key role in Kate and William’s office after a period of turmoil,” a source told the newspaper on Jan. 11.

Britain's Prince William, Prince of Wales and Britain's Catherine, Princess of Wales arrive to attend a State Banquet at Windsor Castle in Windsor, on December 3, 2025, the first day of a three day state visit by the German President. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier received a ceremonial welcome to Britain Wednesday as his state visit got into full swing -- the first by Germany's official head of state in 27 years.

PEOPLE understands that Ravenscroft is joining William and Kate’s office in a non-crisis-based role in the palace press office. She will be working on the day-to-day press and media relations that arise with members of the world’s media.

Andrew, 65, is expected to leave his home of more than two decades, Royal Lodge, soon and relocate, most likely to a private home on the King’s Sandringham estate. Andrew was forced to give up the long-term lease he held for the property as well as being stripped of his remaining royal titles and honors in October 2025, amid renewed scrutiny over his ties to Epstein. The move, ordered by King Charles, was backed by William.

William and Kate have many longstanding members of staff. However, in July 2025, they said goodbye to Natasha Archer, a key member of their household. After 15 years of dedicated service as the Princess of Wales’ personal assistant, Archer, 37, left her palace role to set up her own private consultancy.

She joined the staff in 2010 as a personal assistant to both Kate and William and, over time, she became an integral part of Kate’s inner circle and was widely credited as her unofficial stylist. She was most recently the senior private executive assistant to the Prince and Princess of Wales.

At the turn of the year, the couple’s nanny, who has been with them since the birth of Prince George, 12 years ago, was rewarded for her long-term service and loyalty. Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo was awarded a Royal Victorian Medal (Silver) by King Charles in his New Year’s honor’s list for her services. Borrallo, who was born in Spain, trained at the prestigious Norland College in Bath, which specializes in childcare, before coming to work for William and Kate.
