The French woman who is in Australia on a working holiday was left bloodied and with a chipped tooth after the plates hit her in the face.

A woman who smacked the plates out of the hands of a Melbourne waitress, causing her to chip a tooth, reportedly told the worker to “get lost” before blaming her for the incident.

It occurred on Anzac Day just before 1pm at La Vallee Cafe on Keilor Rd in Essendon.

CCTV shows a woman walking past a staff member who was carrying three plates of food outside.

After the pair narrowly miss bumping into each other, footage shows the woman appear to smack the plates in the waitress’s hand, leaving them smashing her in the face.

She then walked off while the staff member stared at her, appearing to be in shock.

The victim was left bloodied and with a chipped tooth.

La Vallee Cafe posted the CCTV on Instagram, asking the community for help finding the woman.

The video has been viewed almost 3 million times in less than 24 hours.

The victim has since been identified as a woman called Anaïs from France, who has been in Australia on a working holiday for a year.

She said the woman told her the accident was her own fault.

“I felt very bad,”Anaïs said.

“I saw my teeth broke and a lot of blood and I thought at first I could lose my teeth.”

“I’m very upset, I’m like ‘why did this lady do this?’, I did nothing.

“She told me ‘its your fault’, I’m like ‘what?’”

Anaïs said she called her mum after the incident saying she was okay and she had already been to the dentist.

“My mum was very scared but she said she can’t do anything in France,” she said.

La Vallee Cafe owner Josh Rabie told Sunrise that Anaïs was “a bit shaken up” by what had happened but was back at work.

After the footage was posted on Instagram the cafe was flooded with messages of support from the local community, with multiple businesses offering support.

A local dentist offered to pay for the staff member’s dental work, another business offered her a free steak dinner once her teeth were fixed and a jiu jitsu studio offered her a 12-month self defence membership.

“This is disgusting behaviour. I am the owner of Healthy Smiles in Keilor Road Niddrie and I am more than happy to fix your staff members front tooth free of charge as this is a coward act and your lovely waitress shouldn’t have to go through this,” the local dentist said.

Billionaire Adrian Portelli also offered a $5000 reward to find the woman responsible.

Rabie said he was overwhelmed by all the support the worker and his cafe had received.

“I mean it all goes a long way, its amazing to see and hopefully we can keep going to find this lady,” he said.

A fundraiser has been set up for Anaïs who has been left with a big bill following her dentist visit.

The woman in the footage was wearing a black long sleeve top, light blue jeans, sunglasses and a silver necklace with a charm.

She was also carrying plastic bottles of iced-coffee and a black jacket.

“An investigation into the incident is underway,” Victoria Police said.

Authorities are urging anyone who recognises the woman to contact police immediately.
