British tennis player Arthur Fery offered to coach the three children of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Chatting with Catherine after she arrived at Wimbledon with her husband and two eldest children, Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 11, the Wimbledon semi-finalist said “it would be great” to see the Wales family again and said he’d be “free” to teach them the ropes.
Speaking after their meeting on Sunday afternoon, Fery said: “I mean the princess came to my match in the second round, it was great to have her there and we spoke a little about that. It was good to see her here and good to meet her finally. She wished me good luck for the rest of the year and congratulated me for these two weeks.
“I know the whole family are all tennis fans, so I told her if her kids ever wanted to hit, I’m free. It would be good to see them again.”
Asked if he thought the family would take up his kind offer, he said: “Let’s see, I don’t know. Let’s see if I get the call up.”
The tennis player, who is celebrating his 24th birthday today, also revealed that the princess handed him a birthday card.
The Wales family arrived at Wimbledon shortly after 3pm, and began greeting a line-up of guests, including British wildcard Arthur Fery.
Catherine watched the young tennis player play at Wimbledon in one of his earlier rounds. He lost in the semi-final against Alexander Zverev on Friday.
Fery said he would be watching the Men’s Singles Final between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev on the TV.
