Country singer J.D. Graham is giving fans an update after being involved in a serious accident on an interstate highway.

In a Facebook Reel shared on Wednesday, Feb. 25, the artist shared an update from his hospital bed, donning a gown with his neck fully braced.

“I’m barely alive here. Thank you, guys, I’m still discombobulated but my daughter said that people are helping me out with some things … broken back, broken ribs, broken heart,” he shared.

Graham added another heartbreaking factor to the equation by pointing out that his “dog died in the car with me.”

“It’s a tragedy, and thank you guys for the support, and I hope to see you guys soon. I’m not too worried about music stuff right now, at all, I’ve just got to get better. Just giving you guys an update, later, love you,” he shared.

The video was posted alongside the caption, “Dad wanted to make sure he personally gives everyone an update. The devil works hard but God works harder. Thank you for your continued support.”

Over on GoFundMe, the artist’s family members, Destiny and Sydney, gave an update into the details surrounding what happened to Graham during the accident.

“On February 24, my dad, Jeremy Graham, was involved in a very serious accident on the interstate. He was hit by one semi and then slammed into another. The crash was severe, and first responders had to cut him out of his vehicle,” their post stated. “He was taken to a nearby hospital and then life flighted to a trauma center in Texas, where he is currently being treated.”

Though Graham’s family is still awaiting test results, they shared that it will likely be a “long and difficult recovery.”

“He has a broken neck, a broken back, and several broken ribs, and he will be unable to walk for some time,” the GoFundMe’s description further noted.

In a separate Facebook post in January, Graham had revealed that his wife Amy, “recently finished her own battle with cancer and, because of her own medical challenges, is unable to work right now.”

“When he is finally able to return home, he will have a long road ahead with extensive physical and mental rehabilitation. It’s going to take time, patience, and a lot of strength,” Destiny and Sydney explained in the GoFundMe. T

hey thanked friends and family for their “calls, messages, prayers, and support,” and thanked those reading “for continuing to keep him in your prayers and for loving our family so well.”

As of the time of publication, the GoFundMe has raised over $50,000. A benefit show is also being held for Graham at Bird’s Nest Listening Room in Dunn, N.C.

Graham is known for his emotionally-compelling music with themes that focus on redemption and sobriety amid life’s turbulence. According to his official bio, this is not his first time navigating a serious car crash, as he apparently was involved in a “catastrophic car accident” in 2017 that “led to a five-year prison sentence in Arizona.”

The accident comes amid Graham gearing up for the release of his forthcoming project, Uppers and Downers, due out on March 6. Beyond that, it also coincided with being just two days after Graham marked four years removed from the end of his prison sentence.
