A wild crime spree involving alleged home invasions and carjackings has led to the arrest of five teenagers.
Police say the group, aged between 16 and 19, were taken into custody with the help of the dog squad on Wednesday after days on the run.
The teenagers are allegedly linked to a string of violent break-ins across Brisbane’s southside and the Gold Coast, using a white 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen during a burglary on Banzai St at Kingscliff between 10pm on March 29 and 2am the following morning.
At 5.15am on March 30, it is alleged four people forced entry into a Skyview Ave home in Rochedale, where Elena Parolin and her husband, both in their 60s, were asleep upstairs before being woken by a loud bang.
Parolin went downstairs to investigate and allegedly found four intruders inside, rummaging through the house, with police alleging the group threatened her with a knife and demanded cash before leaving without taking any property.

Security footage from inside the home captured the incident, with the young men allegedly heard saying, “get the gun, get the gun, shoot her, shoot her”, followed by Parolin’s screams.
“I just felt that I was going to lose my life this morning,” Parolin said.
“I didn’t know whether it was going to be by a gunshot or by a knife, but I just felt like I shouldn’t have to feel so unsafe in my own home.
“My husband and I were minding our own business, for people to intrude into my home, armed, and threatening me with my life.”
When she attempted to call police, one of the offenders allegedly knocked the phone from her hand, leaving her with a cut and fractured finger that required hospital treatment.
The incident was the second time the couple’s home has been targeted in the past six months.

Police allege the group is also linked to a break-in at Red Cedar Cres in Calamvale about 10.28am on March 30, where a Mercedes-Benz was stolen and a female resident was injured while trying to stop the vehicle.
About 2.40am on March 31, the group allegedly forced entry into a Robina home on Redbud Lane, attempting to steal the resident’s white 2012 Mercedes Benz GLC300 but crashed the vehicle whilst reversing from the property, when confronted by the owner.
The owner was allegedly assaulted and received minor injuries before the group fled in the previously allegedly stolen Jeep.
The homeowner sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
Investigations are ongoing into further incidents potentially linked to the group.
Anyone who has information or vision, including dashcam or CCTV, is urged to contact police.
