A woman has been charged with the murder of her four-year-old daughter, who was found dead in a suburb west of Brisbane on Monday night.
Emergency services were called to a residence in Lowood just before 11:10pm.
Police said the girl was found unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Michael Manago said upon arrival the girl was found unresponsive.
“Despite the efforts of both police and paramedics, she was declared deceased at the scene,” he said.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation launched.

Inspector Manago said an autopsy would be conducted to provide further clarity on how the child died.
He added the timeline of what happened and the circumstances leading up to the death would form part of the police investigation.
“This is an incredibly tragic situation,” he said.
He said his thoughts were with the family.
“We understand this incident has shocked the local community,” he said.
He said there was no ongoing threat to the area.
‘I could tell something happened to the family’
Neighbour Chris Forsyth said he watched as police cars and ambulances arrived.
“I was sitting inside of my shed at the time, just working on my car, and me and my mate heard a scream and then further on … got a phone call that there was cops coming flying down the street,” he said.
Mr Forsyth told the ABC he saw a man leaving the house fall to the ground and cry.
“I could tell that something had happened to the family,” he said.

Mr Forsyth said the family had been there less than a year.
“They were very quiet, very stuck to themselves. They’d speak to us occasionally, but otherwise you’d just see a happy family come out,” he said.
Peter Atkinson, who lives on the same street, said he was devastated by what happened.
“I just feel so sorry for them,” he said.
