In a bombshell legal decision, a judge has permanently shut the door on Rymir Satterthwaite’s decade-long fight to force Jay-Z to take a paternity test — a ruling that may finally draw the curtain on one of hip-hop’s most persistent, mysterious sagas.
A Decade of Drama, Wrapped Up
The legal battle began years ago when Rymir, now around 30, claimed that Jay-Z was his biological father. He said his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, had a relationship with the rapper in the 1990s — when she was just 16 — and that Jay-Z fathered him.
Despite multiple filings and legal attempts over more than ten years, a judge recently ruled in Jay-Z’s favor: the lawsuit has been dismissed with prejudice. That means Rymir can never refile the same case, and he also cannot demand a court-ordered DNA test from Jay-Z.

Why the Judge Sided With Jay-Z
According to court documents, the judge granted Jay-Z’s motion to dismiss the federal lawsuit. The dismissal was without leave to amend, which is legal-speak for “you can’t just change the complaint and try again.”
Jay-Z’s attorneys argued that the paternity claims have already been “thoroughly reviewed … and rejected” by multiple courts. They also characterized Rymir’s repeated efforts as part of a “decades-long harassment” campaign.
Moreover, the court invoked California’s anti-SLAPP statute, a law designed to stop frivolous lawsuits that try to intimidate or silence someone via the courts.
Rymir’s Side of the Story
For years, Rymir has insisted his fight isn’t about money — he says he’s not seeking child support, but “just the truth.”
He previously filed a lawsuit accusing Jay-Z of “fraud upon multiple courts,” claiming Jay-Z misled judges, hid evidence, and manipulated the legal system to avoid paternity tests.
In July, Rymir withdrew one federal case, cryptically stating there was “a lot going on behind closed doors.” But he made it clear he wasn’t quitting: “I have not stopped my fight,” he said.
Jay-Z’s Response: Denial and Legal Pushback
Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) has consistently denied Rymir’s claims, calling them false and attributing them to a persistent pattern of legal harassment. His legal team has stood firm, saying prior court decisions already rejected similar allegations.
Moreover, Jay-Z’s attorneys argued that the case should be thrown out not just on merit, but because it violates the spirit of anti-SLAPP protections — essentially labeling Rymir’s lawsuit as a legally abusive, public-relations–driven tactic.
What This Ruling Means
Closure (maybe): With the case dismissed with prejudice, this chapter may finally be over in a legal sense. Rymir cannot refile the same paternity claim.
No DNA test forced: The court’s decision prevents any court-ordered DNA test from being forced on Jay-Z in this matter.
Still emotional: For Rymir, the loss may be legal, but emotionally, the wounds are still raw. He claims he was seeking just the truth, not money.
Legacy implications: For Jay-Z — a global icon — this ruling helps insulate him from what he’s long called “harassment.” But for many fans and observers, the questions and controversy remain unresolved.
