Alissa Fay and David Momoh reached a breaking point in their relationship over the final task on Tuesday’s Married At First Sight.

The couple, considered one of the strongest matches this season, clashed bitterly over Alissa’s flirty behaviour during Monday’s ‘grass is greener’ challenge.

After tense scenes in which David could be seen telling his 33-year-old bride he felt ‘disrespected’, the pair told each other they were ‘done’ in the experiment.

The blow-up, only two days ahead of Final Vows, came as David watched a playback of Alissa meeting her ‘alternate’ husband, Connor, at a lunch with the other brides.

David, 31, was horrified when he saw that Alissa’s version of what happened with her substitute suitor did not match her story.

‘Far out, man,’ a disappointed David said, as he watched the footage, and continued, ‘She told me she was networking, but when you watch the video…

‘She digs in with this guy… she is trying to see if the option is better.

‘I feel like I’ve been fooled, and I feel like I’ve been betrayed.

‘To be honest, in the real world, [that behaviour] is not going to work.’

During his confessional, David said that he was not ‘intimidated’ by Alissa’s ‘alternate’ groom but was disappointed at her response.

‘Disrespect is something I will not take,’ he added.

Confronting Alissa over her story, David outlined the ‘grass is greener task’, which he said was about each member of the group seeing whether there was compatibility with their alternate match.

Dismissing the meeting with Connor as ‘just chit chat,’ Alissa then received harsh criticism from David, who told his bride that he didn’t like the way she had portrayed the challenge.

Later, saying that she was happy to ‘own’ everything she said, Alissa added, ‘I’m proud of myself that I just let my walls down and be myself and be happy.’

But things reached a crisis between the pair when Alissa admitted that she and Connor had started following each other on social media.

When David tried to end the conversation by exiting the apartment, telling Alissa he was ‘disappointed’, she turned on him.

‘I’m disappointed too, you threw me under the bus and blindsided me,’ she said, referring to David’s remarks where he expressed doubts over their relationship at the last commitment ceremony.

She continued, ‘You haven’t been real with me for half of this experiment, you’ve been wasting my f***king time.’

‘When I expressed how that video made me feel, I just wanted a little bit of empathy, all I wanted was for you to recognise that that hurt me,’ David said.

Alissa responded: ‘Yeah, I get that, but hurt people, hurt people, but you’re done, don’t worry, I’m done too.’

Moments later, Alissa was seen storming out of their room. She then removed her ring and threw it at David’s feet, telling him, ‘I’m done too.’
