Barbara Bach, 79, captured the hearts of young men across America as the doe-eyed Bond girl in The Spy Who Loved Me alongside Roger Moore.
But now, nearly 50 years later, it was an image from husband Ringo Starr‘s Beatles days that the former bombshell evoked.
As she parked up and fed the meter, she almost became Lovely Rita herself.
Ringo’s bandmate Paul McCartney wrote the song about a ‘meter-maid’ after he had been given a parking ticket outside the Abbey Road studios in London. It became one of the band’s classics on their epic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
Determined that she wouldn’t become a victim like Paul, Barbara made quite sure she paid enough to keep any over-zealous parking enforcement officer at bay.
Barbara, who still looks great at 79, has been married to Ringo for 44 years after they met in 1980 on the set of the movie Caveman. Sparks flew faster than a drumroll, and soon, the world’s favorite Bond girl was the drummer’s leading lady.

The American actress and model fell in love at first sight with The Beatles legend Ringo Starr while on the set of Caveman in 1980, marrying just a year later
She had already found fame as KGB agent Anya Amasova – not too subtly referred to as Agent Triple X –in the tenth James Bond movie which centered on a plan by a megalomaniac’s plans to destroy the world and create a new one under the sea.
Before that she was one of the most sought-out faces in the modeling scene, posing for fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle.
One of her most iconic shoots was in a Playboy spread in 1981, a year after she caught the eye of one of rock’s greatest legends.
The couple endured their share of turmoil in the early years, from a near-fatal car crash to battles with addiction, before checking into rehab together and turning their lives around – trading their rock n’ roll lifestyle for outreach work and a commitment to vegetarianism.
Now, four-and-a-half decades after their love story first began she appeared radiant and effortlessly chic.
Dressed in sleek black slacks, a graphic T-shirt layered under a sharp blue blazer and pink-and-black sneakers, the American actress effortlessly nailed the balance between athleisure and business casual.

Bach has two children, daughter Francesca, 47, and son Gianni, 44, from her previous marriage to Italian industrialist Augusto Gregorini – she and Ringo never had children together but have remained married for over 44 years
She completed the look with a black designer bag, a stack of gold bracelets, a delicate necklace, multiple gold ring and a pair of classic aviator sunglasses.
While her husband wasn’t by her side for this outing, Ringo, 85, has been busy preparing for the launch of his latest exhibition of original artwork, set to open at Las Vegas’s Animazing Gallery.
The collection draws inspiration from the vibrant 1980s ‘Spin Art’ style – with 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit their charity, the Lotus Foundation.
The couple, who got sober together in 1988 after entering rehab, went on to co-found the Lotus Foundation in the 1990s.
The organization focuses on funding, supporting, and promoting charitable projects that protect vulnerable animals and advance social welfare in areas ranging from substance abuse recovery to terminal illness care.
The couple tied the knot in 1981 at London’s famed Marylebone Town Hall – just a year after meeting.
Since then, they have been nearly inseparable, with Bach joining The Beatles legend on numerous tours, appearing in several of his music videos and even inspiring lyrics in his songs.
Though they never had children together, both came into the marriage with families of their own. Bach shares two children, daughter Francesca, 47, and son Gianni, 44, with her ex-husband, Italian industrialist Augusto Gregorini, whom she divorced in 1978 after a decade of marriage.
Ringo, meanwhile, is father to three children from his previous marriage to Maureen Cox: Zak, 50, Jason, 48, and Lee, 45.
