Rapper and Netflix star Ghetts has appeared in court as he’s charged with allegedly causing death by dangerous driving. The award-winning grime musician, real name Justin Clarke-Samuel, allegedly failed to stop after he hit a pedestrian in east London.
Yubin Tamang, 20, was hit on Redbridge Lane, Ilford, at around 11.33pm on October 18, Barkingside Magistrates’ Court heard. Police had attended Ghetts’ address early on October 19, prosecutor Varinder Hayre said.
The 41-year-old musician appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday wearing a grey prison tracksuit as he remains in custody. He had initially been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
