A rapper wanted in connection with a Sydney gangland murder has released a new song while on the run overseas, with lyrics referencing shootings and violence.

A rapper wanted in relation to the wild murder of a Sydney gangland figure at an inner city petrol station has taunted authorities by releasing a new song while on the run.

Harley Johan, known as YC Ewzy, is believed to remain overseas more than a year after Niddal Acherkouk was gunned down in Redfern on November 22, 2024.

Mr Johan, 31, released a track on January 30 titled “4am”, which references gang violence and shows him holding firearms in a video that appears to have been filmed in Bali.

The film clip, published to YouTube, begins with a snippet from a 9News report on police calling for Mr Johan to come home and “face the music”.

“Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who’s the greatest? Watch them fall,” he raps.

“Load the straps if they won’t walk. I’m official. Let’s play ball.”

News.com.au has verified some of the locations depicted in the film clip, which has been viewed 4000 times, including the family-friendly beach Pantai Jerman in South Kuta.

It also shows a motorbike riding through the Bali streets, with signs allowing another location to be verified as Imam Bonjol thoroughfare in Denpasar.

It is unclear when the video was filmed, and Mr Johan has also reportedly been pictured at Mexican resort since heading offshore.

“This be real life, no PS5. When we see that boy, it’s on sight,” he raps, while pointing a gun at the camera.

A few lines later he raps: “Damn. Now your parents crying about you dying.

“Now they have to buy a casket and the suit you lie in.

“Guess they never got that silver lining.

“Yeah. Caught you lacking, guess that’s perfect timing.”

It is not suggested the lyrics in “4am” refer to Acherkouk’s death.

The song is the first the rapper has released since May, before Mr Johan was identified as someone police wanted to speak to in connection to the murder late last year.

NSW Police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr Johan in September 2025, 10 months after Comanchero associate Acherkouk was killed on Cleveland St.

Acherkouk, 31, had dined with friends at Erciyes Turkish restaurant before returning to his Ford Raptor ute parked at the BP service station next door about 6.40pm.

CCTV captured two men dressed in black, one wearing a poncho, running from a dark coloured Porsche and ambushing their target as he sat in his car.

The shooting shocked investigators and the community for its brazen nature, with the victim attempting to duck bullets while running around a busy petrol station on the border of bustling Surry Hills.

“This is an outrageous incident and demonstrated a high level of reckless indifference to the public who were around that area at that time,” Superintendent Andrew Garner said at the time.

Police revealed in October they were seeking Mr Johan as part of the Strike Force Moorlands investigation into Acherkouk’s murder.

They have not publicly stated what his alleged connection to the shooting was.

In sharing his new song on Instagram, an account titled ycewzymusic_ wrote: “Fck a million views. I ran up millions in these streets.

“Against all odds we keep swinging back against the wall.

“Fck the law.”

A spokesperson for NSW Police said in a brief statement: “The NSWPF are aware of the video and as the investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment.”
