“Thank You for Trusting Me”: Kris Smith Confirms the End of an 18-Year Relationship
After nearly two decades of representing one of Australia’s most recognizable retail brands, English model and former footballer Kris Smith has officially confirmed that his long-standing partnership with Myer has come to an end.
The announcement, made by Smith himself on social media, marks the close of an 18-year relationship that made him one of the most familiar faces associated with the department store.

The 47-year-old model, who was born in the UK and is now based in Australia, shared a collection of photos from advertising campaigns and memorable events he attended throughout his years with the retail giant.
Alongside the images, Smith posted a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the brand for such a significant part of his career.
“After 18 years @myer our relationship has come to an end.”
“The fun I’ve had, the places I’ve visited and the people I’ve met will live with me forever, thank you for trusting in me to represent your brand it’s been unreal…. #myer #itsbeenemotional.”
His post quickly drew responses from friends and colleagues within the fashion industry. Among them was Australian model and The Block star Elyse Knowles, who left a warm message in the comments.
“A beautiful journey! I was so lucky to be by your side for a snippet, with ur constant support ! Lots of love xx.”
Myer also released a statement thanking Smith for his contributions after nearly two decades together.
“Kris has been a key part of the Myer story for the past 18 years, and we’re proud of everything we’ve built together.”
“His contribution to the brand has been significant, and something we’ll always be thankful for.”
According to the company, the change reflects a new direction for the retailer. Rather than continuing with traditional long-term ambassadors, Myer plans to collaborate with a broader range of Australian personalities on individual campaigns.
“As we enter a new chapter, we’ve evolved our approach to talent moving away from traditional ambassadors, to work with a broader range of Australian talent across individual campaigns.”
Smith first became a Myer ambassador around 2009. Throughout his time with the company, he worked alongside several other well-known Australian personalities, including Jennifer Hawkins, Elyse Knowles and Rachael Finch.
The end of his partnership with Myer comes shortly after Smith endured a deeply personal loss. Just last month, he revealed that his beloved father had passed away.
On social media, Smith paid tribute to his late father with an emotional farewell message.
“Today we say goodbye to my amazing dad, I can’t thank you for all you gave me, all you taught me and the love I’ve felt…”
“It will never leave and nor will you in my thoughts, you’re back with Gaz now, and I know you’re causing chaos..”
“Till we meet again… I love you xxxxx.”
In addition to his successful modelling career, Kris Smith is also remembered by many fans for his high-profile relationship with Australian singer Dannii Minogue. The couple dated from 2008 until 2012 before eventually parting ways.
Today, Smith is happily married to fitness expert Sarah Boulazeris.
Looking back on his 18 years with Myer, Kris Smith said that the people he met, the places he visited and the experiences he enjoyed throughout that journey will remain some of the most treasured memories of his life.
