rincess Eugenie once got “in trouble” for sharing a photo of her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, on social media.
The incident happened in 2018 when Eugenie, now 35, posted a snap of her father inside Buckingham Palace at his first Trooping the Colour ceremony as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. It’s a title he gained in 2017 and lost in 2022 following scandal surrounding him.
In an interview in 2018, Eugenie revealed she got a ticking off for sharing the image on Instagram.

Princess Eugenie got ‘in trouble’ after sharing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor photo
The image showed Andrew in his uniform, standing tall and smiling. A glimpse of a palace corridor was seen behind him.
Portraits were on the wall as well as ornate end tables and a trail of bust sculptures. Meanwhile, red carpet ran the length of the corridor as the sun streamed in through the palace’s floor-to-ceiling windows.
Eugenie had captioned the post: “A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.”
But, Eugenie later got in trouble as the corridor was “off-limits to the public”.
Speaking to British Vogue in 2018, Eugenie admitted: “I recently got in trouble for posting a picture of Papa in a corridor of the palace that was off-limits to the public.”
The following year, in November 2019, Andrew stepped back from royal duties amid scrutiny over his association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Eugenie’s relationship with her father
Eugenie and her older sister, Princess Beatrice, have always shared a close bond with their father, Andrew, and mother, Sarah Ferguson.
However, in recent weeks, relations have said to be strained amid the scrutiny surrounding Andrew and Sarah.
Both are facing intense backlash over their association with late convicted sex offender Epstein.
I recently got in trouble for posting a picture of Papa in a corridor of the palace that was off-limits to the public.
On January 30, the US Department of Justice released more than three million files relating to Epstein and his crimes.
Within these files, images appeared to show Andrew kneeling on all fours over an unidentified female lying on the ground. No context has been supplied for the images. It’s also unclear when and where they were taken.
Andrew has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

Allegations against Andrew
For years, Andrew has also faced allegations of sexual assault by the late Virginia Giuffre. Ms Giuffre alleged she was made to sleep with Andrew on three separate occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.
Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations.
Elsewhere, emails allegedly between Ferguson and Epstein emerged in the newly released files last month. In them, Ferguson appeared to refer to Epstein as a “legend” and like a “brother” to her.
Allegedly, following Epstein’s prison release following his conviction for soliciting sex from a minor in 2009, Ferguson reportedly visited him in Miami. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were allegedly also in attendance. The sisters were 20 and 19 at the time.
It has not been confirmed whether the emails pertained to or were from Ferguson and the true context has not been revealed.
Royal Insider contacted representatives for both Andrew and Ferguson for comment on the files. Being named or pictured among the Epstein files is not an indication of wrongdoing.
Beatrice and Eugenie’s ‘feelings’ over Andrew and Sarah scandal
Both Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie haven’t spoken out publicly about the scrutiny. It’s also unclear the state of their relationship with their parents.
However, royal author Robert Jobson told HELLO! recently: “They must be overwhelmed and aghast by this.”
