Prince Harry’s security nightmare could soon be over. Yes, you read that correctly.

Ever since he quit royal life five years ago, security has been an issue the Duke of Sussex has come back to time and time again, especially after his taxpayer-funded security was downgraded as he no longer lived in the UK. Harry has always argued that the reduced security he receives in his home country is why his trips from the US have been sparse and almost always without his children.

While he lost a court case regarding his police protection in the UK earlier this year, it seems Harry could now be in luck, with his security situation under review by the Home Office. The department is believed to be reviewing evidence gathered from the police, the Government, and Harry’s team regarding his security rights. And if it does decide that he needs the security he craves it could have one major impact on the Royal Family dynamics.

Over the last few years, Harry has always argued that his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, have not come to the UK with him because it is unsafe.

If he does get his taxpayer-funded police protection returned to the same levels as when he was a working royal for his visits to the UK, there would be no reason for them to stay at the family’s Montecito home anymore. They could join him.

While it is not known how the royals will feel about this, or Meghan, who is believed to have purposely avoided the UK since her last visit in 2022, there is one thing that is certain.

If Archie and Lilibet come to the UK with Harry, the dynamics of the family will change. Because, finally, they will be able to develop a relationship with their grandfather King Charles, becoming an active part of his life and the wider family in general.

This then leads to endless possibilities, especially as Archie and Lilibet get older. They could attend certain events celebrating their grandfather, develop relationships with their royal cousins, and maybe even help to boost the popularity of the Royal Family in the way Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis undoubtedly do.

And I reckon King Charles would love it, with family being one of the most important things in his life.

While, of course, we cannot predict the future, the results of this security review – which are likely to be published within weeks – could alter the Royal Family and certain relationships within it for good. And if it means that Archie and Lilibet get to know their royal relatives and have the big, loving family many hope for, what is not to like?
