Jens van ’t Wout of the Netherlands powered to victory in the men’s 1500m short track speed skating final at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 on Saturday (14 February), clocking 2:12.219 to claim gold. It is the Dutch skater’s second gold medal of these Winter Games, following on from his triumph in the 1000m.

Republic of Korea’s Hwang Daeheon, the Beijing 2022 Olympic champion over 1500m, took silver in 2:12.304. The result brings Hwang’s Olympic medal tally to four across three Winter Games appearances.

Bronze went to Roberts Kruzbergs of Latvia in 2:12.376, securing his country’s first-ever Olympic medal in any speed skating discipline. Latvia’s previous Winter Olympic podium finishes had come exclusively in sliding sports.
