Meghan Markle has publicly marked her eighth wedding anniversary to Prince Harry by sharing a series of images from their special day. Taking to Instagram this morning, the Duchess of Sussex shared two posts, the first from the evening celebrations and the second from the daytime ceremony.

And one black-and-white image from the couple’s special day in Windsor features Harry’s father, King Charles, who walked Meghan down the aisle after her own father was unable to make it. Meghan is facing away from the camera, wearing her stunning bridal gown and long veil held by her page boy. The King is standing several feet away, looking towards the nave, where Harry is chatting.

Other images show Meghan beaming while holding her mother’s hands, behind-the-scenes snaps from their official photographs, crowds gathered around a grand piano in Windsor’s Great Hall while Sir Elton John performs and Harry delivering a speech to guests.

Meghan shares 24 images in total, all taken by photographer Chris Allerton. The images perfectly capture the happiness of their special day, including several shots of their first dance during the evening reception at Frogmore House.

In the caption for both posts, she wrote “eight years ago today”, the first with a moon emoji and the second with a sun emoji.

In 2018, the world watched as Prince Harry wed former actress Meghan Markle at George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The couple’s wedding was a star-studded affair, and guests included Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, Idris Elba, David and Victoria Beckham and James Corden.

Less than two years after their royal wedding, the couple decided to step down as senior working royals and relocate to the US.

They now live in California with their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, four.

Harry and Meghan continue to work on philanthropic projects and recently visited Australia together to highlight the causes they care about the most.
