Meghan Markle was mocked for her “generosity” after fans took aim at her latest As Ever offering. The Duchess of Sussex unveiled her lifestyle brand’s new launch on Thursday, which turned out to be five bundles of her existing products on sale, along with a new, limited-edition matchbox.

Fans had already figured out As Ever’s upcoming product after the Duchess teased its release on social media earlier this week. On Thursday, the brand launched the new sets, consisting of various of its candles, with a message saying on social media: “Introducing our new curated sets featuring the limited edition As Ever matchbox. Small details for setting the mood. Thoughtfully designed for slow mornings, quiet evenings, and the moments in between.”

Despite fans’ speculation that the matchbox would be available for sale, the new product is now included free with any purchase of the new bundles.

Some royal fans found the offer “humorous” and took to social media to criticise the Duchess.

One user wrote on X: “Here’s the deal of the century! The matches are included… but only after you buy TWO candles. What generosity.”

Another one commented: “I would never pay $128.00 for two candles that I have no clue what they smell like. Just for keepsake matches.”

A third user joked: “We’re generous… conditionally.”

A fourth one said: “I’d rather wait for a sale at bath and body works.”

A fifth one added: “I would never spend $128 to buy two candles but now that it comes with a box of matches, I’m adding to cart [laughing face emoji].”

A sixth user then wrote: “128$us for 2 candles & a small box of matches? What a rip off!”

Others loved the new offer, with one fan saying: “I just realized that the matchboxes were added in as a freebie and did not add to the cost of my order. Thank you #AsEverbyMeghan.”
