Meghan Markle will apparently not follow in her husband, Prince Harry’s, footsteps and pen a tell-all memoir, despite claims that it could be a multi-million dollar source of income for them.

The comments come after the Duchess of Sussex previously suggested during a podcast appearance last year that she intended to write her own book one day, following the commercial success of Prince Harry’s Spare, which reportedly earned him £27million, including an advance of at least £14million, according to The Sun.

Suggesting that this is now off the table, a source told OK! Magazine: “Meghan and Harry are cautious about everything they do and say to uphold the standards of the monarchy. Those [memoirs] are the types of projects they don’t want to do.”

Speaking about the huge commercial value a memoir from Meghan could have, a source previously told Closer Online: “The word in publishing circles is that everyone’s mad to land Meghan’s memoirs and the numbers being thrown around are ridiculously high.

“We’re talking tens of millions for her authorised biography – it’s going to get to the point where she can’t say no. And love her or hate her, there’s no denying that she has an insight into the royals that no one else can share.”

They added: “She’s strategically chosen to hold off for the sake of peace, but she absolutely wants to share her truth – and why shouldn’t she?”

Prince Harry’s tell-all book was released back in January 2023 and laid many of his grievances against the Royal Family bare, including dropping bombshells such as his alleged physical fight with Prince William which saw him break a dog bowl and his necklace.

One of the saddest details his book revealed was exactly how he learned of his grandfather, Prince Philip’s, passing. The late Duke of Edinburgh died five years ago today at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle.

In the tense days before the funeral, Prince Harry revealed he woke up to a staggering “32 missed calls” and then had a “short, heart-racing” talk with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Harry recounted the chilling conversation with his late grandmother, where she broke the news: “Harry… grandfather has passed away.”

Following Prince Philip’s passing, Harry honoured him with a moving statement, praising him as the “legend of banter” and saying: “He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm and also because you never knew what he might say next.”
