Calling all thriller fans! Mark your calendars because the edge-of-your-seat thriller, The Copenhagen Test, is coming to Channel 4 next week.
The eight-episode espionage series stars Simu Liu as a first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale, who discovers that his brain has been hacked using new technology, giving the perpetrators unprecedented access to everything he sees and hears.

The production team are well versed in bringing gripping drama to the screens, with creator, writer and co-showrunner Thomas Brandon having previously penned for the supernatural series, Legacies, while Jennifer Yale, who is co-showrunner and writer, has producer credits on Outlander and Your Friends and Neighbors.

What is The Copenhagen Test about?
The story follows Alexander Hale, a first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst working for the covert organisation The Orphanage, which oversees all other U.S. intelligence agencies.

The series comes to Channel 4 on Wednesday 8 April
Disillusioned with his current role, Alexander applies for a newly formed organisation. However, he fails to mention his recent bout of migraines and panic attacks and quickly discovers that his brain has been hacked, with the perpetrators having access to everything he sees and hears.
The full synopsis reads: “The Copenhagen Test follows first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Simu Liu), who realises his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. Caught between his shadowy agency and the unknown hackers, he must maintain a performance 24/7 to flush out who’s responsible and prove where his allegiance lies.”
Melissa Barrera, Sinclair Daniel, Brian d’Arcy James, Mark O’Brien and Kathleen Chalfant also star.

It’s safe to say the thriller went down a storm with US audiences, having first premiered on the American streaming service Peacock in December.
