WARNING: Confronting footage
Shocking footage shows the moment Sydney underworld figure Lorenzo Lemalu was brutally assassinated as he stood outside a restaurant in Vietnam.
Authorities in the south-east Asian nation are seeking to speak to two Australian men they believe could assist their investigation into the killing of the 24-year-old Coconut Cartel gang leader.
The dramatic CCTV footage obtained by SCN Worldstar captures the moment a gunman targeted a group on a Ho Chi Minh City street on Thursday night.
Walking with his hands in his pockets, the shooter approaches a crowd of about five men and several women, including Lemalu.

After a quick glance at his target, he walks slightly past them, abruptly turns, and opens fire. Lemalu and another man are struck multiple times before the gunman pursues the gang leader inside a restaurant, where more shots were presumably fired.
The other victim crawls along the footpath toward a friend, the gunman emerges from the restaurant and flees across the street on foot.
Other CCTV inside the restaurant shows the gory aftermath of the shooting as paramedics desperately attempt to save Lemalu.

Vietnamese authorities have released images of two men they want to speak to over the incident — Lang Kenny Trong Minh Do, 36, and White Justin John, 38.
There’s no suggestion of wrongdoing by the two men, just that police want to speak to them.

The Daily Telegraph reports Lemalu was a former member of Proper 60, a Merrylands-based Alameddine-linked gang.
Police investigating Sydney shooting
The incident came just two days after a shooting in Sydney. NSW Police is investigating whether the shooting was linked to the Coconut Cartel
Alai Ahio, 28, died and four others were seriously injured in a shooting at a home in Canley Heights on Tuesday night.
Police said five men were inside the home about 8.20pm when two gunmen stormed in and began shooting.

“I can confirm that police are looking for two males that entered the premises shortly before 8.20pm where a number of gunshots were heard from that premises,” Detective Superintendent Craig Middleton said.
Officers were called to Liverpool Hospital about 8.30pm on Tuesday after two men went to the emergency department with “multiple” gunshot wounds.
It is understood the men were members of the Coconut Cartel.

Mr Ahio was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment but died.
The second man, aged 32, is in a stable condition with a neck injury.
Just 10 minutes later, two men, aged 23 and 22, were treated at Fairfield Hospital, where their conditions were stabilised before they were rushed to other hospitals.
The 23-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his neck and the 22-year-old was being treated for a shoulder injury. Both remain in a critical condition.

A fifth man, aged 19, then arrived at Liverpool Hospital at 9.50pmwith injuries to his arm and remains in a stable condition.
Mr Ahio was a former associate of Mount Druitt-based drill rap group OneFour.
There is no suggestion of wrongdoing from any OneFour members.
Superintendent Middleton said police believed the shooting was targeted but didn’t confirm if it was linked to organised crime gangs.
“We are aware of some organised crime links, although I can’t confirm that at this stage,” he said.

Police set up a crime scene at a house in Arbutus St in Canley Heights, with NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon revealing detectives from the NSW homicide squad also seized two vehicles used to transport the two injured men to hospital.
Speaking to 2GB’s Ben Fordham on Wednesday morning, Mr Lanyon said while it was too early to determine the motive behind the attack “we do (believe) it was a targeted attack”.
“This is what we see when organised crime becomes involved,” Mr Lanyon said.

Police are investigating whether the shooting was linked to the Coconut Cartel, which has been locked in a heated rivalry with the Alameddine crime clan.
No arrests have been made.
A gang war has erupted across the city’s west since the start of the year, with the two rivals involved in a spate of shootings and firebombings of homes and businesses associated with gang figures.
When asked if there was any connection to the Coconut Cartel or Alameddine crime network, Mr Lanyon said it was too early in the investigation to confirm.
However, he said the shootings showed a “complete disregard for human life”.

Arbutus St in Canley Heights remains blocked off by police, who are combing through the scene and searching for evidence.
Clothes, shoes and other personal items were strewn across the garage of the home as detectives compiled evidence.

Sahir Wadi, who has lived in the area for four years, said the street was usually “very quiet”.
“Today I (saw) some police … I thought (they were) shooting a movie or something because I saw some umbrellas or something like that,” he told NewsWire.
“It’s very sad to happen here, in this area.”
He said “mostly families” lived in the suburb, and he’d never heard of any violence in the area.
“It’s a surprise,” he said.
“It’s mostly families. All have kids and you can see them in the morning (as) they go to school.
“Most of them are nice people.”
