Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are reportedly in line for a substantial £5 million inheritance from a late royal when they reach the age of 40, according to claims made in a new documentary. The Channel 5 programme, which delves into the wealth of the royals, ranked the top 10 richest members based on their reported net worth, beginning with Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and concluding with King Charles.

Some rankings were shared by multiple individuals, such as Eugenie and Beatrice, who clinched the eighth spot in The Royal Rich List 2025: Who’s Worth the Most?

Despite being bestowed with the HRH title, the sisters, unlike their cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, weren’t given roles as working royals, necessitating them to carve out their own careers.

Upon graduation, both princesses secured employment: Beatrice at Sony Pictures (she later served as vice president of strategy at Afiniti) and Eugenie at an art auctioneer, earning conventional salaries.

Beatrice’s annual salary at Afiniti was reportedly between £150,000 and £200,000. Meanwhile, Eugenie landed a role at art gallery Hauser & Wirth, where her salary is said to exceed £100,000.

However, the documentary’s narrator suggested that the true source of the sisters’ wealth comes from a series of alleged “windfalls” from the Firm, the first of which emerged following their parents’ divorce in 1996.

Charlotte Griffiths, the editor at large for the Mail on Sunday, said: “Beatrice and Eugenie, like many of their friends, have a trust fund, but theirs actually came through tragedy, really, because it’s when their parents divorced. The Queen gave them a £1.4million trust fund.”

Ann Widdecombe, a former Home Office minister, believes this sum has increased if it has been a “properly managed” trust fund and that it likely represents a “very large part” of their fortune.

The narrator said: “And in just a few years, on their 40th birthdays, the sisters are alleged to receive another whopping windfall, a reported share of a £5milllion inheritance from their great-grandmother, the Queen Mother.”

Charlotte revealed that this had been held in a fund and had grown through interest, so Beatrice and Eugenie are expected to receive what she termed a “good stipend” when they reach that milestone.

In summary, the narrator highlighted that Beatrice and Eugenie reportedly possess an individual estimated net worth of £3.5million.

Meanwhile, reports surfaced earlier this year that King Charles is supposedly keeping the sisters “on ice”, with their ultimate role within the Firm to be determined by William.

Ingrid Seward, a Royal author and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, suggested that they could become “valuable assets” for the future King once he takes the throne.

In a chat with Hello!, she expressed: “I think they would be open to doing more because they like to give back. They have always been close to William, and the King is very fond of them too.

“Having slimmed down the monarchy, I don’t think he will change his mind, so I think he will leave it to William to bring them into the fold. I think they’re being kept on ice.”
