Authorities claim the social media star plotted to have former Why Don’t We singer Jack Avery killed amid a bitter custody battle over their seven-year-old daughter.

Inmate records reviewed by the California Post show Gonzalez was arrested on Monday by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office before later being transferred to Los Angeles County custody.

Records reportedly show she is being held without bail after being arraigned on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Gonzalez has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Her father, Francisco Gonzalez, was also arrested in Florida on Monday in connection with the alleged scheme, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement sources told the outlet the alleged plot grew out of a long-running custody dispute involving the couple’s daughter, Lavender.

According to the Los Angeles Country Sherriff’s Department, Francisco allegedly became deeply involved in the row, with one witness reportedly telling investigators he once said: “it would be cheaper if Jack were dead.”

TMZ previously reported Gonzalez was arrested while allegedly preparing to board a flight in Humboldt County before being transferred to Los Angeles.

Authorities reportedly believe the alleged murder plot dates back to 2021 and included efforts to monitor Avery while he was living in Hawaii.

Investigators allege members of the Gonzalez family tried to obtain photos or videos of the singer smoking or drinking that could be used against him in custody proceedings.

One alleged message reportedly showed Francisco writing: “Call Barca … never too early,” which investigators believe referred to Dustin Barca, a retired MMA fighter living in Maui.

Gonzalez and her friend Kai Cordrey allegedly later attempted to recruit Barca to threaten Avery, according to court records.

The criminal complaint did not accuse Barca of any wrongdoing.

A witness also reportedly told investigators Gonzalez said her father electronically sent Kai $10,000 in April 2021 disguised as “web-development payments.”

Kai allegedly later told investigators the explanation was fake and he had not carried out any web services.

Using information provided by Kai, a federal agent allegedly posed as a hitman and joined a phone call with Francisco, during which investigators claim payments and the intended target were discussed.

Following Gonzalez’s arrest, Avery has now reportedly filed for court-ordered protection and is seeking sole custody of their daughter.

Court documents obtained by the California Post reportedly show Avery filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Gonzalez and requested “sole legal and sole physical custody” of Lavender Avery.

He also asked the court to deny the influencer visitation rights pending further proceedings.

“The acts of abuse described in the attached declaration have taken place in front of the minor child. Gabriela attempted to kill me by hiring a hit man. Gabriela is not stable and not able to act in the best interest of our daughter,” the filing stated.

Avery also claimed his daughter was temporarily placed with a foster family in Northern California after Gonzalez’s arrest before he travelled to collect her himself.

The singer further alleged the ordeal caused him “fear of death, chronic anxiety, depression, [and] post-traumatic stress disorder.”

The reported investigation appears to have been running for years, according to the New York Post.

In a September interview, Avery previously recalled FBI agents arriving at his home to warn him somebody was allegedly trying to have him killed – though he did not publicly identify Gonzalez at the time and still praised her parenting.
