Cardi B’s ex, rapper Offset, recently broke his silence for the first time since a shooting incident in Florida sent him to the hospital this month. While sitting with an IV in his arm, the 34-year-old rapper appeared on the “Creators Inc. Podcast,” discussed getting shot “last week,” and described an immediate return to work even as he remains in recovery. Early in the episode, Andrew “Andy” Bachman, the host, referenced their usual routine, saying, “Every time Offset comes, we get IVs together.”

Cardi B’s ex Offset speaks on shooting incident in new podcast

The conversation turned serious when the host asked how Cardi B’s ex, Offset, managed to travel so soon after the shooting incident, highlighting, “You only got shot 6 days ago. And that was in Florida. And now you’re here in LA,” to inquire how he got there so soon.

Offset answered with the mindset he says he has maintained since it happened. He replied, “Got to keep pushing,” while also sharing that the injury did not stop him from moving ahead and “working on my album” in L.A. He added, “I’m trying to drop soon. Couple months from now.” Additionally, Offset clarified, “I just got hit in my hip,” later adding, “I’m blessed. I can keep pushing, so why would I just sit down? I got to keep pushing, I got to keep going.”

Reports earlier this month said Offset was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. In a statement to Variety, a spokesperson said, “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.” Now, on the podcast, Offset stated that he did not appreciate sympathy. He said, “The grind don’t stop,” and “I don’t want nobody feel sorry for me,” telling the host, “People get shot every day.”

Cardi B’s ex, Offset, now sounds grateful and appears to be focusing on his recovery and getting back to music while the investigation around the shooting incident in Florida continues.
