The Prince of Wales has shared a private video from his phone after an “incredible” night at the football cheering on his beloved team, Aston Villa.
Prince William, 43, will resurface in Cornwall on Thursday afternoon with a series of engagements running at a later start time than usual – likely due to the events of the night before.
Ahead of his arrival, he shared a video of the game taken on his personal phone on the Kensington Palace official Instagram account. Typically, the account would share media from official photographers, so William sharing his own footage is very unusual.
Proud football fan William accompanied his video with a message reading: “What a night. Thank you to Turkey for hosting a great final. Incredible atmosphere and great sportsmanship from Freiburg. Enjoy the parade, Birmingham. W.”
The video showed Villa’s celebrations on the pitch, including cheering fans, a parachute, and a sign reading: “Up the Villa!”
Pictures taken from the stands on Wednesday night showed the royal looking like any other football fan as he filmed the scenes on the pitch while holding his phone in landscape mode.

A game to remember!
William was even spotted attending a post-match afterparty in Istanbul after the game, featuring in a picture taken by Swedish influencer Maja Nilsson Lindelöf, who is married to Villa centre-back Victor Lindelöf.
The father-of-three had appeared tearful as he watched on as Aston Villa claimed their first major trophy in 30 years, and their first Europa League title in his lifetime, joined by a selection of his closest friends.
Villa took on German team SC Freiburg in Istanbul, and it’s clear they had some royal luck on their side, soaring to a 3-0 win.

Prince William roared with happiness during the game
Afterwards, William wasted no time in sharing an ecstatic message to the Palace’s social channels, writing: “Amazing night!! Huge congratulations to all the players, team, staff and everyone connected to the club! 44 years since the last taste of European silverware!”
“Special shout out to Boubacar Kamara who has been out injured but is such an integral part of our team and helped lay the foundations of this success. UTV! VTID, W,” he wrote, signing off with the W to indicate he wrote the message.
UTV stands for Up The Villa, and VTID is an acronym for Villa ‘Tie I Die.
Why is William in Cornwall?
Prince William is due to meet members of the public during a walkabout with the local community in Nansledan, an urban extension to Newquay being developed by the Duchy of Cornwall.

He will also stop at Nansledan’s first build-to-rent homes to meet residents and explore the market street developments.
Nansledan continues to grow and already has around 900 homes, a primary school, offices, a community centre, more than 40 local businesses and green spaces.
The visit is particularly significant as it comes after William’s major plans for the Duchy were revealed, as he plans to sell around a fifth of its land over the next 10 years.
The land, a 54,000-hectare property empire bringing in more than £20 million of private income every year, has been bestowed on every British heir since the 14th century
