Two men have been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into police killer Dezi Freeman.
Victoria Police confirmed the pair were arrested at separate locations in northeast Victoria on Tuesday morning.
“A 48-year-old man and a 45-year-old man were arrested on 26 May at two separate locations in north-east Victoria,” police said in a statement.
“The pair will now be interviewed by police.
“The investigation remains ongoing and as such, we are not in a position to provide further details at this immediate time.”

The arrests came a day after a directions hearing at the Coroners Court of Victoria revealed the final moments of Freeman’s death, as well as the vile rant he unleashed over the bodies of the fallen officers.
Freeman was shot dead by police in March after spending seven months on the run following the fatal shootings of Senior Constable Vadim De Waart-Hottart and Detective Leading Senior Constable Neil Thompson at his Porepunkah property in August last year.
Police have been investigating how Freeman travelled from Porepunkah to the remote Thologolong hideout where he was eventually killed.
Two alleged associates of Freeman — a man and a woman — were arrested by police in April before later being released.
The court also heard on Monday that Freeman had already been under investigation over alleged child sexual assault and child abuse material offences when a 10-person police team first attended his property.

The court heard he refused repeated demands to exit the bus, yelling the warrant was “illegal” and telling officers to “go to hell”.
He reportedly said: “Oh for f***’s sake what bulls***” when an officer explained why they were there.
When Thompson, 59, attempted to climb through a perspex window above the bus door, Freeman allegedly shot him in the side of the face and neck with a shotgun.
Thompson collapsed immediately.
De Waart-Hottart, 35, who was standing nearby in the bus annex, turned to run before he was shot in the head.
The court heard Freeman then took de Waart-Hottart’s handgun and shot Thompson a second time at point-blank range in the head.
“I had no choice. I had no choice,” he said repeatedly.
“F***ing scum … you f***ing die in f***ing hell,” Freeman was recorded saying as he stood over the fallen officers.

Freeman later fled into nearby bushland, allegedly texting his wife: “Get a mile away and keep going. See you in heaven love.”
Police then launched a massive operation before finally locating Freeman on March 30.
Freeman called the responding police “thugs” and “bullies” who were only there to hurt him.
Over several hours, multiple attempts were made to engage in good faith negotiations, including police providing a mobile phone to Freeman.
At 8.29am, Freeman emerged with a green bag covering his hands, which were not visible to officers.

The court heard he then lowered the bag with his left hand and raised a black handgun with his right, allegedly pointing it towards police.
Members of the Special Operations Group (SOG) at the scene said they believed the firearm had been discharged.
Eight SOG officers then opened fire, fatally shooting Freeman.
“The deceased was struck and immediately fell to the ground,” Spence told the court.
“His injuries were deemed to be fatal.“
