Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been told to “behave better” after it emerged the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s chief communications officer had stepped down. Meredith Maines was only appointed in January and is believed to be the 11th publicist in five years to leave the role.

TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan said the number of different aides during the period is “a hell of a lot to lose” and said he believes Meghan is blaming negative press on her publicist. Referencing reports, including one that alleged she had “reduced grown men to tears”, O’Sullivan continued: “So publicists no doubt respond by saying, ‘well, Meghan, if you behave better, then these stories wouldn’t be written about you’. It’s the old vicious circle.”
